Coach Jim Koske founded CrossFit Oyster Point with his wife and fellow athlete Dianne. Since opening its doors in 2010 as one of the first CrossFit Affiliates in the Tidewater area, this athletic training center has become the prime coaching resource for high school, college, tri-athletes, runners, recreational athletes and those just seeking to improve fitness. Jim’s diverse skill set, focused coaching and warm personality allows him to utilize his professional training as a strength coach and physical therapist to provide a progressive, safe and positive environment for all his athletes.
Jim graduated from Old Dominion University with a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy. Over the past 15 years, he has helped individuals achieve goals related to functional mobility. Five years ago Jim saw the opportunity to enhance his ability to help individuals optimize their functional aptitude and fitness level by becoming a CrossFit Level 1 Certified Coach. Jim passionately believes in the life-changing benefits of functional fitness. His goal as a physical therapist/fitness coach is to inspire individuals to make long-term lifestyle changes, and he has found that CrossFit’s scalable intensity, attention to improved mobility/stability throughout the body and commitment to functional movement makes it the perfect program for individuals of all ages and abilities.
Jim believes that the mindset of an individual who participates in sport and fitness training plays a vital role in the success of any program. He fosters a supportive training environment to help clients overcome self-doubt or perceived limitations to achieve their full potential.
Jim’s works full time at Ft. Eustis as a strength/conditioning coach and Physical therapist. He has been active in sports all his life: playing football in college,
Competitive men’s softball, Mountain climbing, volleyball, and Mountain biking. He is always up for a challenge. One of Jim’s biggest accomplishments is his successful summit of the highest mountain in North America, 20,320ft. Mt. McKinley.
Dianne Koske is President and Co-Owner of CrossFitOP. She’s been a CrossFit Coach for five years. She graduated from Ithaca College with a Bachelors of Science in Business Finance and Communications. She also holds her Series 6, 63, 26 and 7 investment licenses. She has worked with American Funds Investment Company for more than 17 years as a National Accounts Manager. Dianne left the financial industry to pursue spreading the word about CrossFit and how through CrossFit, you can live a bigger and better life. Dianne also played competitive beach volleyball for over 17 years and her favorite part of beach volleyball is diving in the sand to get that pass you think is out of reach! In 2007, Dianne ruptured a disc diving for one of those balls and thought her volleyball career was abruptly shortened, until she met CrossFit. CrossFit has allowed her to strengthen her body to get back into playing beach volleyball, perform CrossFit workouts at high intensity as well as building noticeable amounts of flexibility. She enjoys coaching all levels of athletes, from those that have not been active lately to those that are at higher levels of fitness. She loves sharing what she’s found in CrossFit with others to help them reach their personal fitness goals and have a bigger, fuller, better life.

Roxanne has a B.S. in Physical Education from Springfield College and a M.S. in Cardiac Rehabilitation and Adult Fitness from University of Wisconsin – LaCrosse. She has been a college professor since 1983 teaching primarily in biology, nursing, health and physical education departments. In addition, she has taught group and individual exercise sessions for more than 40 years, to children, college students, adults and seniors.
In May of 2011 Roxanne joined a friend who had started working out at CrossFit OP. She enjoyed the friendly small group and well instructed workouts. The varied activities were challenging and fun, but more importantly proper technique was emphasized. With an exercise science background, and years of teaching biomechanics at the college level, Roxanne knew proper body movement is paramount, and a good coach’s eye for proper body alignment is critical for safety.
Roxanne has competed at the master’s level in the CrossFit Open competition for 9 years, with the strength components being her most competitive areas. In 2017 she began competing in powerlifting at the Regional and National levels. She set an American Record (M3) in the Back Squat at National’s (2017) and placed second overall. In June 2019 she set the World Record in Back Squat (123 Kg.) while competing for Team USA in Helsingborg, Sweden.
Roxanne decided to obtain a Level 2 CrossFit Trainer because she could see the need for master’s level athletes to have someone who understands that “we don’t have 20-year-old bodies anymore”. Functional Fitness is something we all need, especially as we age, as it allows us to continue to do the things that we love to do.
Teaching and helping people, especially master’s athletes reach their potential is one of Roxanne’s passions. Roxanne said “It is very rewarding to see the number of master level athletes actively participating at CrossFit Oyster Point dramatically increase over the last few years.

Our Head Coach, Dani, has been competing in Crossfit for about 7 years, starting in college when she was looking for something new and challenging after deciding to no longer play on the volleyball team at Lynchburg College. Being a year-round athlete all through her life, playing basketball, volleyball, track & field, and lacrosse, she missed the competitive atmosphere and daily, tough workouts. Crossfit gave her exactly that and she fell in-love with the sport immediately!
She has been competitive within the Hampton Roads area as well as nationally at various CrossFit Sanctioned events, earning a notable 10th place finish at MACC in 2019.
Dani has an extensive background in Exercise Physiology and Sports and Exercise Nutrition. She is experienced in coaching workouts with a wide variety of clients and athletes from middle-school basketball players to collegiate varsity athletes and from a beginner client new to any exercise to high-level CrossFit athletes. Dani’s passion is helping people find their confidence through strength and health and she loves helping anyone reach their goals of competitive performance, general fitness or overall health and wellness with CrossFit training as well as proper balanced nutrition habits!

Adam is currently an active duty Naval Officer and has been for 22 years. He has been involved with the Navy fitness program for over 10 years.
In 2013, Adam started CrossFit when he got bored with his usual workout routine. In just a few months, he started noticing progress and improvements that used to take years to achieve and he vowed to never go back to traditional training after that.
Adam is currently working on his Master’s Degree in Exercise Science from Liberty University and will graduate in December 2020. He is very well versed in kinesiology and energy systems which helps him coach and guide our members with an educated, scientific approach to their workouts.
He joined us in 2019 to bring his passions for CrossFit and leadership together by coaching our Group Classes and has integrated into an important part of our OP community!
Our favorite Dunder Mifflin employee, no really, Terrance is a Sales Manager at a paper company! Ask him about it, he’ll happily bore you with paper facts.
In 2018, after getting tired of the usual big box environment, you know, the long, quiet sessions of independent movements and waiting for dumbbells or machines to become available, Terrance decided to give CrossFit a try. Once completing OP’s Essential classes and joining group WODs, Terrance quickly accumulated to OP’s community and became a full blown CrossFit Crazy. You can find him doing group WOD’s or in open gym, working to master various movements and improving his mobility. Today, Terrance is a strong supporter of the CrossFit methodology and credits his growth and improved physical and mental health to the members of OP.
Terrance’s favorite part of coaching is bringing a smile and celebrating the victories of those around him. #RingTheBell
