The beauty of CrossFit is that every day is different.

 

Our workouts are a combination of FUNCTIONAL movements.  You will notice these movements carrying over into your everyday life as you sit, stand, bend over, pick things up and lift things overhead.

 

They also include constantly varied exercises to force your body to continually adapt and improve.

Here, your fitness goals can be met with a safe and effective approach.

REMEMBER! You don’t have to be in great shape to start! CrossFitOP is filled with people that are NEW to CrossFit and  who haven’t exercised in a very long time. We teach people how to move correctly, which keeps them injury-free and inspired to continue pursuing their health and fitness goals.

What to expect:

Each class is led by an experienced coach starting with a dynamic warm-up and mobility.  Then there is a strength or skill element adjusted to every individual level. Then, the workout (called the “WOD”) combines conditioning, skills and strength training depending on the day.

The class will often end with a short cool down or stretch led by the coach as well.

** Before starting in the group CrossFit classes, you’ll complete our Essentials Course! We require this for all people new to CrossFit.

How we do it…

1. Our goal is to put you in a place where you’re working smarter & harder to accomplish your goals as efficiently as possible.

2. We are doing the movements involved in everyday life like squatting, lifting, pushing and pulling at a pace that gets your heart rate up which leads to adaptations within your body like improved cardio, stronger muscles, and decreased risk for chronic illnesses.

3. We start with your mechanics.  Your movement mechanics address how you move.  That is why we start with the Essentials Course, so we can assess how you move across various types of exercises and coach you through progressions to improve anything that might be increasing your risk for injury! 

After mechanics comes consistency.  That means moving with those proper mechanics often and regularly, like attending  2-3 Crossfit classes per week. 

Once we have solid mechanics performed consistently, you can continue along your journey by applying higher intensities to your workouts to promote even greater results and never reach a plateau!

ESSENTIALS COURSE

Those who are new to CrossFit complete (3), one-on-one 60-minute Essentials Course sessions with one of our experienced coaches. These sessions introduce new athletes to the basic movements of CrossFit, including:

  • squats (back, overhead, and front)
  • deadlifts
  • overhead presses (strict presses, split jerks)
  • body-weight movements

The emphasis of these sessions are most definitely focused on technique and slowly introducing intensity to your workouts.

These one-on-one sessions will provide a stepping stone towards our regular CrossFit classes. The sessions are scheduled at a time convenient to you.
